how to have fun - the Ateneo way?

when i first saw this, i was like "WOAH. totoo ba 'to? Ateneo gagawin 'to?"

(photos taken from http://the-wawam-file.blogspot.com/2008/10/ateneo-bonfire-celebration-of-5-wins.html)

you must be kidding me.

but yes, it's true. :|

this was during the Ateneo Bonfire last Sept. 30, 2008.

written on the wood are names of the DLSU players (on the picture: Mangahas, Barua, Malabes, Villanueva, Rico 'MaierFINGER' (?), and shit, even CASIO.). There's also a Pumaren, Three Blind Mice, UE Red Warriors, and others which i can't read (can you?). and i assume meron pa yan sa likod.

unang-una, matagal akong nagpaka-lungkot dahil hindi ako nakapunta sa bonfire. feeling ko ang dami kong na-miss, like maybe seeing Chris Tiu in person? having his autograph, taking a picture with him, or whatever.

i'm a fan, YES. not only of Chris Tiu, but of the whole Ateneo Blue Eagles. and maybe not just of the varsity team, but of the whole Ateneo community.

MATAAS ANG TINGIN KO SA MGA TAGA-ATENEO.

siguro dahil yun ang second choice ko after UP nung kumuha ako ng entrance exam? i dunno. basta feeling ko iba sila sa IBA.

then biglang makikita ko 'to? sa CELEBRATION nila. yes, they're celebrating for their winS. di lang sa Seniors Men's Basketball.

seriously, i got really, really, really disappointed. i mean di ba, yes you have the right to burn wood for YOUR bonfire, in YOUR field, for YOUR celebration. pero why do you have to write the names of the other team's players? para sunugin sila at ipamukha niyo pa lalo na natalo niyo sila?

at isa pa, BAKIT PATI UE RED WARRIORS KASAMA DYAN?! next to the UP Fighting Maroons, Ateneo Blue Eagles at UE Red Warriors ang sinusuportahan ko. so hindi ko lang matanggap na pati UE kasama. BAKIT?!

AT!!!! BAKIT PATI SI CASIO?! grr naman. you could've spared him. :|

i personally don't like the DLSU Green Archers that much. between ADMU and DLSU, i can answer you right away that i'm for Ateneo. their rivalry, yes it's fun din in a way. pero i think what they did was kinda below the belt na.

they could've just burned a mascot of a Green Archer with an arrow or whatever. they could've burned a huge banner with the 'De La Salle Green Archers' written on it. they could've just burned the trees, because they're green. or the grass. or basta kahit anong green! pero bakit kelangan pang isulat yung individual names, di ba? it's just rude, i think.

sige nga, isipin mo, ikaw, yung pangalan mo (or surname) sinusunog in front of thousands (?) of people. without any reason at all. trip lang. and they're making fun of it. what would you feel?

sure, as a team, go ahead and make fun of them, the hell i care. pero yung mismong mga tao na ang titirahin mo, well that's a different story. :|

btw, there was one reply posted in the uaapseason71 group in multiply:
